Gotland Tour 2019

I am so thrilled to announce that my husband and I will be taking a group of 10-15 people on a tour of Gotland, Sweden in June of 2019!  In cooperation with Milne Educational Tours, we are offering eight days of exploring the Best of Sweden’s Gotland, while enjoying a full immersion into farm life on the island. Since leaving Gotland in 2015, I have wanted to go back. Three years ago, we traveled to Gotland to learn about Gotland sheep and the people who raise them. We stayed on a farm during our trip and visited several shepherds on the island. At the end of our stay, we attended the local ram auction. During our short stay, we made connections with people sharing the same passion-Gotland sheep. It is my desire to take a group with me to become fully immersed in Swedish farm life.

Those who travel with us will become fully immersed in Swedish farm life on the island. We will stay a full week on a Gotland sheep farm. With our personal guide, we will visit other shepherds, stepping into their studios and farm shops. We will meet their sheep and hear about the challenges of raising sheep on this small island. We will visit the island’s small fiber mill and talk with artisans. We will learn about the history of the island and tour ancient Viking ruins. We will take in the natural beauty of the Baltic Sea and the amazing limestone sea stacks. On our free days, we will explore the walled city of Visby, walking the wall, visiting the museum, and walking the cobble stone streets.
