Shearing Day for the Gotlands

It was the perfect day for shearing. The sky was blue and the sun was warm.

Even Kai enjoyed the day. Our shearer brought her dog Lyle along, and he and Kai played a game of tag around the truck.

Wow, they get sheared in the Fall? That seems to go against the grain so to speak. I thought that shearing time was in the Spring.

Gotland sheep get shorn twice a year because their fiber grows so quickly. They will get sheared again in the spring.
