Just a Typical Vermont Spring Day

Yesterday, was a wonderful spring day. The sun was shining and the sky was a deep blue. I watched the birds building their nests in the nesting boxes by the garden. A bluebird family has decided to move in this year. They busied themselves for a long

time flying in and out of the box carrying grasses and twigs in their beaks.

The daffodils caught my attention on the edge of the garden. They stood with faces bright next to the rhubarb. The chives in the herb garden were fresh and green reaching towards the sun. Then as I rounded the corner of the house, the yellow blooms on the forsythia bush looked so cheery.

That was yesterday. This morning I thought the calendar said it was the last week in April but the weather outside indicated perhaps it wasn’t. Snow fell throughout the day putting a white blanket on everything. The weather forecast is calling for 2-4 inches of snow overnight. Just a reminder to us that we should keep the snow tires on the car until about June.

I saw your first pictures and thought, “does she live in the same Vermont as me????” Ah! Apparently you do! You got more snow than we did though. We only got a pretty white dusting. Hope all of your botanical friends are okay!

    Love, katy
